• This MWBE company does not warrant the professional courtesy of acknowledging receipt of its correspondence. • This MWBE company cannot secure 45 mins of a Skanska Executive’s attention. • This MWBE company could not pay its overhead and did not make a profit. • This MWBE company has over $2M in debt, entirely based on this project. • This MWBE company is faced with closing its business, not due to a pandemic, but this project. Glenesa, Spearhead no longer has another month to wait for a meeting. In fact, Spearhead barely has another month of existence without fair compensation for the work it completed, 8 months ago. SWJV financially harmed Spearhead and the 8-month lack of response to discuss an equitable adjustment to our contract is unconscionable and now threatens Spearhead’s existence. Does putting a company like Spearhead out of business in its rush to complete a project further the goals or satisfy the intent of the MWBE program? Or, does the aggregate of MWBE subcontracts worth $684 million justify the lack of response leading to our closure?
Glenesa, thank you for having the decency to always pick up your phone. We appreciate your efforts on our behalf.
Take care,
-Andee
