1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS:

A. The following documents apply to all required work for the Project: (1) the Contract Drawings, (2) the Specifications, (3) the General Conditions, (4) the Addendum, and (5) the Contract [City of New York Standard ConstructionContract].

1.2 SUMMARY: A.

This Section sets forth the General Requirements applicable to electrical work for the Project. Such requirements are intended to be read in conjunction with the Specifications and Contract Drawings for the Project. In the event of any conflict between the requirements set forth in this Section and the requirements of the Project Specifications and/or the Contract Drawings, whichever requirement is the most stringent, as determined by the Commissioner, shall take precedence. 1.4 DEFINITIONS:

A. WIRING: means both wire and raceway (rigid steel, heavy wall conduit unless specifically indicated otherwise). B. POWERWIRING: meanswiring from a panel board or other specified source to a starter (if required) then to a disconnect (if required), then to the final point of usage such as a motor; unit or device. C. CONTROL and/or INTERLOCK WIRING: means that wiring that signals the device to operate or shut down in response to a signal from a remote control device such as a temperature, smoke, pressure, float,
