1.9 voe REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERIOR SEALANTS: A.

The volatile organic compound (VOC) content of sealants, or sealant primers used in this project shall not exceed the limits defined in Rule 1168 - "Adhesive and Sealant Applications" of the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), of the State of California. B. The voe limits defined by SCAQMD are as follows. All voe limits are defined in grams per liter, less water and less exempt compounds. 1. Sealants: a. Architectural 250 b. Non-membrane roof 300 c. Roadway 250 d. Single-ply roof membrane 450 e. Other 420 2. Sealant Primer: a. Architectural - Nonporous 250 b. Architectural - Porous 775 C. Other 750 1.10 voe REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERIOR PAINTS: A. Paints and Primers: Paints and primers used in non-specialized interior applications (i.e., for wallboard, plaster, wood, metal doors and frames, etc.) shall meet the VOC limitations of the Green Seal Paint Standard GS-11, of Green Seal, Inc., Washington, DC. Product-specific environmental requirements are as follows: 5. Volatile Organic Compounds: a. The voe concentrations (in grams per liter) of the product shall not exceed those listed below as determined by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Reference Test Method 24. Interior Paints and Primers: Non-flat: 150 g/I Flat: 50 g/I The calculation of VOC shall exclude water and tinting color added at the point of sale.
